As a meat farm rescue from Korea, I suffered from separation anxiety so it was tough for my humans to leave me at home since I’d howl and howl for hours. ….Just like your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, you can think of Boris and Horton as your dog-friendly neighborhood cafe. Located on the corner of Avenue A and E 12 Street, this is the perfect place to go with your humans if they’re ever in need of a coffee break or a mid-afternoon munchie. Boris and Horton has a delicious all-vegetarian menu with gluten-free and vegan options. They’re pretty well known for their mouth-watering grilled cheeses and avocado toasts, trust me, I’ve stolen a few bites. If your humans are thirsty for something alcoholic, they also have craft beer and wine. I love going to Boris and Horton to hang out with all the other doggies off-leash, especially on Thursday Trivia night and during adoption and partnership events with doggie rescues like Muddy Paws. ….This pawesome dog-friendly bar is known for its ever-changing list of craft beers, and gravel-based outdoor backyard patio. They DO NOT SERVE your typical Bud Lites nor Coronas nor do they serve food, but you can bring your own snacks, or treats or have seamless delivered (oh how I wish Seamless can deliver dog treats too #doggoals). This bar is also pawfect for big groups and hosting events like doggie barkdays or meetups. I had my going away pawty here and all I had to do was have my human call to make a reservation to book a spot in the outdoor patio. And let me tell you, it was the best time ever! ….This is definitely one of the most budget and dog-friendly bars, located in Williamsburg. This hole in the wall is very laid back and serves a range of beers, shots, and cocktails. On a good day, you’ll more than likely be greeted by a dog upon entering, and in their spacious patio in the back, you’ll find a bunch of doggies running around while their owners are enjoying a cold one. When we lived in Brooklyn, this was the perfectly spot to go out with my humans – so perfect that I hosted a howloween pawty here too! ….This was one of the first dog-friendly bars that we’ve ever been to. The humans had Chinese food delivered and enjoyed that with some reasonably priced cocktails (especially during happy hour). I was just chilling and avoiding the other dogs because I wasn’t in the mood to sniff any butts that night. The music can be a bit loud and its kind of dark inside but besides that, this is an amazing spot for a casual night out where doggies and their humans can just kick back and relax. Closest train stop: 6 off Bleecker St / Lafayette St. ..Este fue uno de los primeros bares para perros al que fuimos. Los humanos pidieron delivery de comida china y la disfrutaron con algunos cócteles a precios razonables (especialmente durante happy hour). ….Before we moved to Ecuador, we lived in the Upper East Side for a couple of months. That’s when we discovered Barking Dog, located right on the intersection between Third Ave. and 94th Street. They have tons of outdoor seating where we can keep our humans company as they enjoy the classic American food that Barking Dog has to offer. We went for Brunch – Dad got the Chicken and Waffles (he’s addicted I swear) and Mom got the Chicken Cobb Salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed! The best part is that by us doggies just being there, the humans get a discount on select menu options! Closest train stop: 6 off 96 Street. ..Antes de mudarnos a Ecuador, vivimos en el Upper East Side durante un par de meses. Fue entonces cuando descubrimos Barking Dog, ubicado justo en la intersección entre Third Ave. y 94th Street. ….Traditionally this isn’t advertised as a dog-friendly restaurant but they do allow on-leash dogs in their BEAUTIFUL garden-style patio. We’ve been here a handful of times and each time has been consistently amazing. It’s a bit on the pricier side but totally worth it. Their cocktails are out of this World, and their Red Curry Mussels dish is so delicious, that my dog-dad begged for a bowl of rice to eat the leftover curry sauce with. Their service is spot on and the owners have a rescue dog of their own, so clearly they’re my kind of humans.
