....Exploring Seattle On Foot With Our Dog..Explorando Seattle a pie con nuestro perro....
….On February 1, 2019, we traveled to Seattle with our rescue dog Guillermo. For us, it was definitely one of the most memorable trips. Why? Because for the first time in years, Seattle was getting hit with a surprise #snowmageddon, coincidentally two days after our arrival. What perfect timing... On top of that, we didn’t have a car nor could we rent one (no license on visa problems) so you must be thinking, what the hell did we do in Seattle for 10 days?! Besides spending some (or a lot) of quality time in our Downtown Seattle Airbnb, we absolutely made the most out of our time there, especially the first two days before the snowstorm hit. No joke, we literally fit so much into our schedule, walking almost 20 miles a day exploring as many dog-friendly spots as possible. So with that said, we hope you guys enjoy this highlight of our time in Seattle. ..El 17 de febrero de 2019, viajamos a Seattle con nuestro perrito rescatado Guillermo. Para nosotros, definitivamente fue uno de los viajes más memorables. ¿Por qué? Porque por primera vez en años, Seattle fue golpeado con una tormenta de nieve de sorpresa, casualmente dos días después de nuestra llegada. Qué momento para perfecto... Además de eso, no teníamos carro ni podíamos alquilar uno (porque no teníamos licencia vigente por nuestra visa), así que debes estar pensando, ¿qué demonios hicimos en Seattle durante 10 días? Además de pasar un rato (o muchos) en nuestro Airbnb en el centro de Seattle, aprovechamos al máximo nuestro tiempo en Seattle, especialmente los primeros dos días antes de la tormenta de nieve. No es chiste, literalmente metimos tanto en nuestro itinerario que caminamos casi 20 millas cada día explorando un montón de lugares pet friendly como sea posible. Pike Place Market
….Pike Place Market became our morning ritual for so many reasons. This public market had everything you needed: fresh seafood & veggies, bookstores, coffee shops, restaurants, you name it. This was where we stocked up on groceries to brace for the storm and there are two places that we wanted to give a shoutout to:..Pike Place Market se convirtió en nuestro ritual matutino por muchas razones. Este mercado público tenía todo lo que necesitabas: mariscos y verduras frescas, librerías, cafeterías, restaurantes, todo lo que te puedes imaginar. Aquí fue donde nos abastecimos de compras para prepararnos para la tormenta y hay dos lugares a los que queríamos dar una súper recomendación:….
….1. Piroshky Piroshky: A small Russian bakery that serves the most delicious pastries ever and a spot we literally went to every day (yes even during the snow). It’s definitely a must-try go-to whenever you’re in Seattle. ..1. Piroshky Piroshky: una pequeña panadería rusa que sirve los pasteles más deliciosos y un lugar al que literalmente fuimos todos los días (sí, incluso durante la nieve). Definitivamente es una visita obligada siempre que estés en Seattle. ….
….2. Another highlight was a cool fish stall that we passed everytime we stopped by Pike Place Market. The people there were super friendly and became best friends with Guillermo by gifting him free and fresh salmon samples whenever we visited. We, of course, stole some for ourselves #sorrynotsorry. ..2. Otro punto destacado fue un puesto de pescado fresco que pasamos cada vez que nos detuvimos en Pike Place Market. La gente era súper amigable y se convirtieron en los mejores amigos de Guillermo le regalaban muestras de salmón fresco GRATIS cada vez que lo veían. Nosotros, por supuesto, nos robamos algunos pedacitos #sorrynotsorry. ….
….Pike Place Market overlooks the Elliot Bay waterfront and has the most breathtaking view of the sunset which makes it the ideal place to just kick back and relax. The best part was that it was only 10 minutes walking distance from where we stayed, so even with the snow, we were able to slowly trek our way there and back without faceplanting (that often). ..Desde Pike Place Market se ve todo Elliot Bay y en serio esa vista es tan impresionante de la puesta de sol en especial cuando puedes ver Mt. Rainier, es un lugar lindísimo para relajarse y descansar. Lo mejor era que estaba a solo 10 minutos a pie de donde nos quedamos, por lo que, incluso con la nieve, pudimos caminar lentamente de ida y vuelta sin caernos muy a menudo. ….

Parks Parks Parks!
….Of course, our first order of business was to check out the parks around the area. Before coming to Seattle, we heard about an off-leash dog park that opened right next to the Amazon Spheres. Luckily for us, it was just around the corner from our Airbnb and we were able to check it out in person. ..Por supuesto, nuestra primera prioridad fue visitar los parques alrededor del área. Antes de venir a Seattle, nos enteramos de un parque para perros que se abrió justo al lado de las oficinas de Amazon. Afortunadamente para nosotros, estaba a la vuelta de la esquina de nuestro Airbnb y pudimos ir en persona. ….
….Walking north along the coast and passing Pier 66, we stopped by the Olympic Sculpture Park which was an offshoot of the Seattle Art Museum. The walk itself was very peaceful, with lots of dogs, tiny hills and awesome sculptures which made it a very “instagrammable” spot. ..Caminando hacia el norte a lo largo de la bahia y pasando el muelle 66, nos detuvimos en el Olympic Sculpture Park, que es parte del Museo de Arte de Seattle. El paseo en sí fue muy tranquilo, con muchos perros, pequeñas colinas y esculturas impresionantes que lo convirtieron en un lugar muy "instagrameable".
….We continued further up to hit up another spot called Myrtle Edwards Park, a tranquil recreational area right by the waterfront. We skipped rocks on the wate just like they do in the movies. ..Continuamos más arriba para llegar a otro lugar llamado Myrtle Edwards Park, un área recreativa tranquila justo al lado de la bahía. Hay unas rocas hermosas!….

….This Seattle landmark is simply stunning! If you love greenhouses and plants, then this botanical garden and conservatory is a must-do on your list. ..¡Este jardín botánico de Seattle es simplemente impresionante! Si te encantan los invernaderos y las plantas, entonces este jardín botánico y conservatorio es algo que debes poner en tu lista. ….
Discovery Park and Lighthouse
….Hiking was a must and we decided to do the Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop Trail which was easy/intermediate level between 4.5 to 6.5 kilometers. It was pretty cold due to the snowstorm but we pushed through and ended up having a super amazing hike and was able to catch the sunset by the lighthouse. If you are able to stop by the Lake Washington Ship Canal while you are in this area it’s a pretty cool spot as well. ..Habíamos escuchado un montón de los senderos en Discovery Park entonces decidimos hacer el Discovery Park y el Lighthouse Loop Trail, que era un nivel fácil/intermedio entre 4.5 a 6.5 kilómetros. Hacía bastante frío debido a la tormenta de nieve, pero terminamos teniendo una caminata súper increíble y pudimos ver la puesta de sol junto al faro. Si puedes parar por el Lake Washington Ship Canal mientras estás en esta área te lo recomendamos es un canal super lindo y un poco de botes pasan por ahí. ….

….Since these are well-known tourist spots we wanted to call them out here since they’re definitely places to check out if you’re in Seattle. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to go in Guillermo so we had to enjoy them from the outside. ..Dado que estos son lugares turísticos muy conocidos, queríamos ponerlos aquí, ya que definitivamente son lugares para visitar si estás en Seattle. Ghost Alley Espresso
….This was one of our favorite coffee shops we visited during our trip. It’s a quaint hole in the wall with gaspingly good espressos. The owner Mike and Guillermo definitely hit it off as well. ..Esta fue una de nuestras cafeterías favoritas que visitamos durante nuestro viaje. Es una hueca super pintoresca con espressos y cafés deliciosos. El dueño Mike y Guillermo definitivamente también se cayeron bien. ….
The Gum Wall
….Just as it sounds, this is essentially an alleyway with walls decorated with chewed gum. Sounds icky but it’s quite beautiful if you think of it as an interactive art installation. This is definitely another “Instagrammable” spot to check out just make sure your dog doesn’t lick the walls… Guillermo tried more than a couple of times haha. ..Tal como suena, este es esencialmente un callejón con paredes decoradas con chicle. Suena medio asqueroso jaja pero es bastante hermoso si lo piensas como una instalación artística interactiva. Este es definitivamente otro lugar "Instagrameable" para ver, solo asegúrate de que tu perro no lama las paredes ... Guillermo lo intentó más de un par de veces jaja. ….
The International District
….Since it was the week of Chinese New Year, we decided to check out the International District. We didn’t see any fancy celebrations (maybe because of the storm) but we did have our own little photoshoot party with Guillermo after finding the perfect outfit for him at a Chinese convenience store. Also, in the International District, we discovered an awesome Asian specialty supermarket called Uwajimaya, which had everything you could think of as well as a very tempting food court. ..Como era la semana del Año Nuevo chino, decidimos visitar el Distrito Internacional. No vimos ninguna celebración (tal vez debido a la tormenta) pero tuvimos nuestra propia sesión de fotos con Guillermo después de encontrar el atuendo perfecto para él en una tienda china. Además, en el Distrito Internacional, descubrimos un increíble supermercado de especialidades asiáticas llamado Uwajimaya, que tenía todo lo que se podía imaginar, así como un patio de comidas muy tentador. ….
Seattle Public Library
….When we needed a break from walking, we spent some time in the library to not only gain some more knowledge about dog biology (haha), but to also brainstorm on business ideas for TakeThree. This trip was also a bit of a creative retreat for us so we wanted to get as much of that exposure and experience as possible!..Cuando necesitábamos un descanso de caminar, pasamos un tiempo en la biblioteca no solo para obtener más conocimiento sobre biología canina (jaja), sino también para generar ideas de negocios para TakeThree. ¡Este viaje también fue un retiro creativo para nosotros!….
Ferry to Bainbridge Island
….This was our first ever ferry ride with Guillermo and it was such a great experience. The ride was smooth and peaceful and it only took about 30-35 minutes to get to Bainbridge Island. This quaint little town was filled with cute boutiques, scenic views and tons of outdoor adventures to enjoy. ..Este fue nuestro primer viaje en ferry con Guillermo y fue una gran experiencia. El viaje fue súper tranquilo y solo tardó unos 30-35 minutos en llegar a la isla de Bainbridge. Esta pequeña ciudad pintoresca estaba llena de lindas boutiques, vistas panorámicas y toneladas de aventuras al aire libre para disfrutar. ….
Mud Bay Pet Store
….Quick story. We left Guillermo’s winter jacket in New York since we never expected a snowstorm to conveniently hit Seattle while we were here. Therefore we were on a mission to find Guillermo a winter jacket to weather the storm and get him through the week. Thankfully we found a Mud Bay relatively close to our Airbnb right before the storm hit. Of course, we couldn’t leave without buying a few dried lamb lung dog treats. ..Aquí les va una historia súper rápida. Dejamos la chaqueta de invierno de Guillermo en Nueva York, ya que nunca esperábamos que una tormenta de nieve azotara convenientemente Seattle mientras estábamos aquí. Por lo tanto, teníamos que encontrarle a Guillermo una chaqueta de invierno para que aguante la tormenta y ayudarlo a pasar la semana. Afortunadamente, encontramos una tienda llamada Mud Bay relativamente cerca de nuestro Airbnb justo antes de la tormenta. Por supuesto, no podríamos irnos sin comprar algunas golosinas secas para Guillermo de pulmón de cordero. ….

….We stayed in Downtown Seattle, a prime location that was relatively close to everything. Specially food, when we were basically trapped because of the storm. When we were able to go outside, we basically walked a marathon per day, we are avid walkers and although Seattle has some steep hills it wasn’t hard to get places. ..Nos alojamos en el centro de Seattle, una ubicación privilegiada que estaba relativamente cerca de todo. Especialmente comida, cuando estábamos básicamente atrapados por la tormenta. Cuando pudimos salir, caminamos una maratón por día, somos caminantes ávidos y, aunque Seattle tiene algunas colinas empinadas, no fue difícil llegar a esos lugares hermosos. ….

….We know that there are a lot more dog-friendly places in Seattle and we had planned to visit so many more but we explored as much as we could considering the harsh weather conditions.
